Yes. When you donate online, you help us twice over, as it is the most cost-efficient channel of collecting funds for SIDF India.
Is it very complicated to donate online?
Not at all. It’s simple and safe. Here’s what you have to do to make a donation on the SIDF India site:
- Decide the amount that you wish to donate towards any one of the causes or towards SIDF India’s work in general.
- Enter your name, contact and other details. Please double check before proceeding for payment.
- Fill in your credit/debit card details. You will get an immediate confirmation of your donation through an email with a donation number.

We accept all Master and Visa Cards.
Is it safe to give my credit/debit card details online?
Absolutely. We adopt stringent security measures to ensure that critically sensitive information, such as your personal information and your credit/debit card details, are protected. We ensure that:
- All your personal information is encrypted before it is transmitted over the Internet. This guarantees that your information is inaccessible to any third party.

Are there any tax benefits on donations to SIDF India?
All donations to SIDF India are 50% exempt from tax under section 80G.
Will you send me tax exemption certificate?
Certainly. We post the tax exemption certificate within 30 working days.
Why do you need my contact details?
We require your postal address and mobile number to deliver your receipt and tax exemption certificate. Your mobile number enables us to get in touch with you quickly incase of any problems around reaching your tax exemption certificate to you. If we had your email address we would be able to send you updates on our work for lesser costs!
Can I donate to a specific project ?
While we are very grateful for any donations we receive, we prefer that funds are directed towards a current campaign or towards our General Fund. This enables us to send money to where it is needed the most by children and to keep administration costs low.

Can I donate specific items like blankets/clothes?

How do I know that my money won't end up in the wrong hands?
SIDF India has a tested system of checks and balances to ensure proper use of funds, including regular internal and external audits. Spending reports are also published regularly for donors and the public. Transparency measures also include regular field visits by staff to monitor spending and progress and payments in installments to allow for assessments of prior spending. We also have an anti-bribery and whistle blowing policy in place.
